How to Create Killer Online Content and Build Your Team


online-contentCreating great online content is very important when you are branding yourself online and working to build your business.  I want to share some tips that will help you to never run out of things to talk about online for the rest of your life.

Invest, Learn, Teach, Profit

Most people who are serious about being successful in business invest in themselves.  They invest in courses,  coaching, events, etc.  While learning these personal development tips, most people take notes.

Invest & Learn

The notes you take, that you do not teach are a bunch of uncashed checks!  If you come home one day and have a mailbox full of checks would you just throw them on the kitchen table and tell yourself, “I will get to those maybe in a couple of days.” Uh no!  You would rush right over to the bank and cash those bad boys.  Don’t treat your notes any different.  Share what you are learning with others to add value to their lives.

Online content = Value

Value = Money

If you want to make $10K a month in your business, you need to add $10K+ worth of value into the marketplace.  If you want to make more money in your business, add more value.

  • Existing books
  • Coaching calls – If you have a coaching client that has a question, most likely plenty of other people have the same question.
  • Events – Conferences, etc.
  • Webinars
  • Podcasts
  • Articles

Sources of Online Content Ideas

  • Grocery store lines – Magazines – I found an idea for 3 blog posts, just in one magazine the other day.
  • Amazon best sellers
  • Forums
  • Sales pages

DO NOT copy and paste word for word from any source!  That is what they call stealing.


If you don’t convert your notes to online content you are basically saying, “I don’t want to make a profit or I just want to stay a student and never become the teacher.”  You want to become the teacher.  Teachers make the big mula.  The key is to think like a marketer instead of a consumer.

The 2 Main Obstacles for Teach

  1. Why would someone listen to me?
  2. What do I talk about?

If you are caring why someone would want to listen to you, you are thinking selfishly.  People don’t care about you.  Once you provide them value, they start to care a little, maybe.  They still care more about themselves and their needs.

Don’t worry about your current resume.  Focus on who you would like to help and add value to them.  Once you consistently add enough value people will start to take notice and then everything will change for you.

Online Content Creation

Videos are great, podcasts are awesome as well.  If you hate doing videos, either get over it and do them anyways or do screen capture videos.

Why Video?

You build excellent rapport over a long distance in a repeatable manner.  Videos stay out there in internet land forever.

Here is a simple formula for videos.

  1. Intro – Introduce yourself
  2. Question – Ask a question
  3. Teach – Share the notes you have taken.
  4. CTA – Call to action – Tell your audience what to do

This is a simple formula to create great videos.

The ILT method makes your online content marketing methods a lot easier.  You will never have to worry about what to talk about.
